Map & Compass
Learn the foundations of map-and-compass navigation so you can better understand where you are, relate the map to the terrain around you, and build the skills to stay found.
You’ll practice: orienting your map, understanding compass basics and declination, identifying terrain features, and taking bearings from map to field and field to map.

Multi-Day BackpackHER Learning Experience
Spend three days learning and practicing backpacking skills in the Angeles National Forest, including gear, nutrition, navigation, planning, and the practical skills that help you become more capable on the trail.
